Unlocking Market Access for Creative Industries at the Music & Lifestyle Expo

Along with an entertainment-packed programme, Joburg’s Ultimate Music & Lifestyle Expo offers talks from a number of industry experts designed to create awareness and opportunities for creatives and SMMEs looking to take their skills and business knowledge to the next level by unlocking access to the growing and lucrative African creative economy.

South Africa’s Creative and Cultural Industries (CCI) contribute R90-billion annually to the country’s economy and is an important driver of jobs and employment opportunities. Yet, Africa’s entire Creative Economy at US$58-billion only represents less than 1% of the Global CCI Economy of US$2,25-trillion, making knowledge, skills and market access a vital factor of growth for South Africans.

The Music & Lifestyle Expo’s entertainment-business-focused programme will feature a number of keynote talks designed to share knowledge and enable market access for SMMEs including a Funding Bootcamp featuring government, creative, business and banking experts.  Subject matter experts will share their knowledge on all aspects of the creative economy, including unlocking funding and building winning brands.

Among the keynote speakers is Muziwethu Mtshali, who will be delivering a Masterclass on Creating Winning Brands. A dynamic force driven by a deep commitment to positive change, Muziwethu’s diverse upbringing, influenced by Tswana heritage and Sowetan identity, has shaped his unique perspective on life. As the co-founder of MNM Creative Agency for over 8 years, he seamlessly merges art and business. Through the platform Obrigado, he orchestrates cultural, cross-continental lifestyle events.

Muziwethu’s talents extend to DJing, co-hosting Kaya FM’s Sound Supreme, and curating the renowned ‘What is Wrong With Groovin’. His impact on entrepreneurship development is felt as the managing partner for Africa at Entreprenerdy, empowering over 2000 young entrepreneurs and fostering innovation across the African business landscape.

Alongside food and entertainment activations, the Music & Lifestyle Expo will feature live performances from a stellar line-up of music stars like renowned singer and songwriter, Ami Faku, famed singer-songwriter and producer, Zonke Dikana and artists Mi Casa and Shekhinah.

In addition to the core offering of music, the event also features a number of unique attractions including an exhibition floor offering allied products like fashion, sneakers, food, beauty and other lifestyle-related products as well as business and industry talks from experts and celebrity speakers. Ongoing food and drink activations round off this year’s not-to-be-missed happening.

“The Music and Lifestyle Expo returns this year as a bigger and better standalone event, celebrating our lifestyles, networking and creating opportunities,” says Tiisetso Tau, Managing Director of Synergy Events the creators of the Music and Lifestyle Expo.
